他定居在纽约，是个牙买加移民的后裔，所以小时候就听过很多雷鬼，但他本人小时候却深受RNB和HIPHOP影响！他很有音乐天赋，还不会说话就已经会唱歌了，他在2岁半开始弹钢琴，而中学就已经是精通长笛！高中毕业就到Berklee College of Music学习，2002年毕业后又回了曼哈顿
